Program

A computer program, also known as a software application, is simply a set of instructions which can be carried out by an electronically controlled computer to carry out a certain task. The word ‘program’ was first used in IBM’s Watson environment and meant something entirely different back then than what it does today. In the IBM System z “Warp”, for example, the words ‘program’ and ‘word’ are used interchangeably, though both are different from the way in which they are used in business today. In this article we will look at exactly what a computer program in a non-IBM environment should be called, as well as how to find one if you need one.
