The Book of Genesis is actually the first novel in the Hebrew Bible and therefore the oldest one. It is considered to be a historical account of humankind’s origin, the creation of this world, the history of Israel, and the genealogy of the Jews. The Genesis accounts for the events that happened just before, during, and after the birth of Adam and Eve. In the Jewish tradition, part of what is known as the “Bible stories” relate how each of God’s creations and people ended up in their respective locations. According to the Old Testament, the authors of Genesis had no special powers or abilities; rather, all of them were created with knowledge and understanding of how to create, survive, and pass on to future generations.
