servers

In computer lingo, a server is an integrated unit of hardware or software which offers the processing capability for multiple clients, also known as “clients” in networking terminology. Typically, this architecture is described by the so-called client/server design. A server consists of one or more servers running on dedicated computer hardware having dedicated processing power and memory to carry out server jobs. Clients are computer systems that will access and use the server hardware. A client can be a networked server or a personal computer connected directly to the Internet. Clients can access a server without being connected to the Internet or a network.
